Discovered Fireflies by Owl City by chance and I'm very in love with it! (*o*) This electropop song took No.1 spot in US Billboard Hot 100 for the month of November. Adore the use of synthesizers and the soothing lullaby-like chorus. The lyrics is also cute (lol?), same goes for the music video with the toys-filled bedroom. Awww...I wish my world were as dreamy. (>o<)
You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave tear drops everywhere
You'd think me rude but I would just stand and
Stare
I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns, slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Cause everything is never as it seems
Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance
A foxtrot above my head
A sock-hop beneath my bed
The disco ball is just hanging by a thread
(Thread, thread...)
I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns, slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Cause everything is never as it seems
(When I fall asleep)
Leave my door open just a crack
(Please take me away from here)
Cause I feel like such an insomniac
(Please take me away from here)
Why do I tire of counting sheep?
(Please take me away from here)
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep
(Ha-ha)
To ten million fireflies
I'm weird cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell
(Said farewell)
But I'll know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar
(Jar, jar, jar...)
I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns, slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Cause everything is never as it seems
(When I fall asleep)
(2x)
I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns, slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Because my dreams are bursting at the seams
You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave tear drops everywhere
You'd think me rude but I would just stand and

Today there was dance practice and aerobics class. Woah, my classmates are active! Lol. XD We were dancing to Jai Ho, the theme to Slumdog Millionaire which is currently going to be our performance for Dental Dinner night. Man I love dancing...jiving to the music and losing calories at the same time! Hehe. =p Many thanks to our dance instructor Dhanya! She's a dancing machine. =) The dance steps are easy to remember since the dance choreography in the film wasn't too difficult either. We still got a month's time ahead of us but we managed to clear half of the dance in 2 days. (o__O) So it's either it's simple or we're pretty amazing. Lol. (^o^) We're dancing to the original song though I find the Pussycat Dolls version more lively and catchy.

My sister was pestering me to download the song 「I can't」 by pigstar so I ended up downloading their album 「ground 0」 and surprisingly, I have been looping their mini album ever since. =p

I don't know why but Tamaki Hiroshi keeps popping into my mind when I saw the guy in the PV...a similar figure? Lol. XP
After Googling a bit, I discovered that the song 「I can't」 was used as the theme song for a Taiwanese movie 「愛到底 L-O-V-E」...kinda explains why my sis was interested in it in the first place. Lol. I thought it was weird for my sis to know about an indie Jpop band. XD I have heard of them before as they sung the OP theme songs for the Junjou Romantica series which are quite addictive. (^__^) I recommend the songs in red though frankly the whole album is a joy to listen to. They may not sound unique but they do write some memorable songs. Worth a listen to if you're interested in J-bands like Kelun, Snowkel and such. =)

This song caught my ear when I was listening to the ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION presents Nano-Mugen Compilation 2009 (a compilation that I look forward to every year XD) - Stereotypes by FARRAH, a British pop band. Since the lyrics were impossible to find, I typed it out by ear. =p

Stereotypes - FARRAH
Every one of us believes it,
that we stand out from the crowd.
But we want to be accepted,
don't want to be the odd one out.
When I look around, it seems so crazy
Everybody leaves it, it's so lazy (line needs revision >__<)
It's so illogical, almost hysterical,
'Cause in the end we're all stereotypes
As individuals, we're invisible
'Cause in the end we're all stereo, stereotypes
Stereotypes
However much we all deny it,
we can't escape the way we're seen.
Where all you find and we can fight it (line needs revision >__<)
but it's the way it has always been.
We're all put in boxes, it's too easy.
Nothing's ever gonna change, believe me.
It's so illogical, almost hysterical,
'Cause in the end we're all stereotypes
As individuals, we're invisible
'Cause in the end we're all stereo, stereotypes
And we all take the easy way out
We're all guilty - the judge and the jury, somehow
Stereo (x2) stereotypes

Stumbled upon a very creative tribute to Michael Jackson sung in a capella. One thing I like about medleys is that you get to listen to all your favourite songs in one go and the transitions between songs are usually quite amazing to listen to, especially in the right remixer's hands. =) The last medley that is still embedded in my mind is Macross Frontier's Nyan Nyan Special Service Medley (Toku Mori) by Kanno Yoko which I absolutely adore! 12 minutes of music bliss~ (*o*)
Anyway, the MJ's video is below. Pity they didn't squeeze all his chart breakers in but nevertheless, a great listen to. =p
